StopDo you love taking pictures? Are you considering making some money out of it? Starting a business out of photography is relatively easy, as long as you have the right equipment.

Starting your own photography business requires very little start up money if you already own the equipment you need. The great thing about this is that it can be done from your own home, and you will soon discover in this Digital Photography Tutorial that exposes the microstock industry.

Any space in your home can be dedicated for your business. This area will serve as your primary “office”.

With today’s digital technology you won’t even need a dark room for film processing. If you have a personal computer and a photo editing program you can begin immediately processing your digital photos.

To make photography your business you may be required to purchase additional equipment. I am sure you want your photos to stand out in order to attract clients. To make them look professional you may want to have on hand a variety of lenses as well as filters that will create a variety of special effects.

As your business progresses you can purchase more items so you really only need to start out with a few of each. The very nice thing about this business is that it is something that can be done in your spare time until you build your client base. In the start up phase of your business working it part time should give you additional income as well as experience.

It is important to remember that this will be your business so you will want to use your time wisely and take each step seriously. If you don’t take it seriously your clients won’t either.

Figuring out a name for your business and perhaps a logo for marketing will be one of the first tasks you must do. Registering with your local government will be the next on your agenda as you want to be a legal business. Once you are registered you will be able to issue sales receipts as well as file taxes.

Also, it would be good to write a business plan. Having one will help you identify your goal for your business and keep focused with this goal. This way, you will know if the business that you start up is worth all your time and effort.

With your business plan, you can also define the different strategies that you can do to make your business more profitable. You can change the business plan from time to time as needed. Having a business plan will surely help your business increase earnings, as well as help you to find ways in financing your business.

When planning your business plan be sure to include your business objectives. The objectives are important because they help you stay focused on the goals you have for your business. You also want to include how you plan to market your business, what advertising you intend to do. You will want to include pricing information so be prepared to have all the information planned out. Again, the business plan is something that can be changed over time.

When looking for clients begin with friends and relatives. You may want to offer some services at reduced cost in the beginning, when you are trying to get the word out. Hopefully the quality of your work will speak for itself and word of mouth will bring in more customers.

Soon your schedule will be so busy that you will be able to do this full time. Having a solid business plan, and sticking to it, is the key to success. Word of mouth and a good marketing plan will keep you going for many years. Advertise locally and you will see your business grow by leaps and bounds.

There are many ways to gain clients. Many people now consider photographs as a very important part in special occasions. Companies also rely on good photos to market their products.

While this all seems very easy to do you must always remember to take your endeavor seriously. Dedication and hard work will take you far in this business. Keep your business plan handy and always refer to it to check on your progress. Its a wonderful feeling to do the work you love on a daily basis.

StopWhether you are looking at getting your first digital camera or for somebody else, then you need to pay close attention to this digital photography tutorial, that explores the true facts behind the success of Pentax and their very popular digital cameras.

Simply the name “Pentax” will bring a smile to the faces of photographers both young and old. In the world of cameras Pentax has become synonymous with quality cameras. This reputation was earned in the era of film yet with digital technology Pentax has risen to the top of digital camera manufacturers and is known for its excellence in performance and quality.

When Pentax introduced their first camera in 1952 they were hailed as innovative creators of easy to use technology. With the advent of digital technology Pentax has consistently shown that they are still a force to be reckoned with in the photography business. By producing quality, durable cameras they have provided their fans with amazing cameras that have stood the test of time. Their most prominent contribution to date has been the 35 mm SLR camera. Their dedication to the photography consumer has always been constant and it continues to grow stronger each year. Here is a look at the cameras that Pentax offers to the digital community.

During the past 80 years Pentax has created an immense number of cameras that have allowed people to capture the treasured moments of their life. Thankfully, for the children of today, there are a new set of digital Pentax cameras that will carry on their legacy. Pentax has two categories of digital cameras on the market today, the Optio Digital Cameras and the *ist Digital Cameras. To appreciate how far Pentax has come with its technology I want us to look at each of the categories.

Both new camera users and digital photo enthusiasts will enjoy the Optio Digital Cameras. Optio Digital Cameras are easy-to-use yet also include a variety of highly sophisticated and advanced features. They are user-friendly and contain loads of image-enhancing features. They are the best of both worlds, easy to use and rich in features. I am listing some detailed specifications that you can find in the Optio Digital Cameras.

You can find the Optio Digital Cameras with a megapixel range of 2.0-6.0. They usually have a 1/ 2.5 inch interline transfer CCD. Most of the cameras have a LCD monitor which is usually a TFT 1.8 inch color screen with 100% LCD resolution and a screen resolution of about 130,000 pixels. Features include a variety of picture modes such as landscape, portrait, sports, night scene and many more. Built in language settings including English, Spanish, German, Italian, Dutch, Russian, French and Swedish which makes these cameras perfect for anyone, anywhere. These cameras work with standard USB ports to connect to your computer operating any Windows Vista, 2000, XP, Me, 98, 98SE system.

The second type of camera that Pentax is marketing is the Pentax *ist. The *ist was created for the professional photographer and has marked the company’s triumphal entry into the digital SLR market. Some of the features you will find on this camera include a minimum of 6.1 megapixels resolutions, an APS format sensor and 2.5 inch LCD display with 210,000 pixels resolutions. The Pentax *ist cameras have a built in ISO setting up to 3200. The digital storage format of these cameras also includes the RAW file format along with the JPEG and TIFF formats.

Available white balancing modes include auto, cloudy, daylight, shade, fluorescent light, tungsten light and manual setting. As you will find on most digital SLR’s the storage media is SD card. You can also check the depth of field prior to taking the photo. LCD options include slide show, digital filter and image rotation capabilities. You can also choose whether to delete a single photo or to delete all the photos. As I mentioned above, these cameras are geared more to the needs of advanced digital camera users or amateur enthusiasts.

When you are in the market for your next digital camera you certainly won’t go wrong with a Pentax. Get this FREE Digital Photography Report that will show you exactly how to take that perfect shot with your Pentax…

Digital Photography Tutorial Discusses Innovative High Speed Digital Cameras

Posted by admin | Posted in Digital Photography Tutorial | Posted on 01-12-2009

StopThe joy of modern technology means that we expect things to be done quickly yet we refuse to let quality take a back seat. Digital technology has let us tap into amazing speed joined with astonishing performance. No where can we see this more than in electronics; specifically, digital cameras. High speed digital cameras were expressly designed for advanced professional and industrial use. Confused? Let me expand this digital photography tutorial in a bit more detail.

When you want to capture multiple images quickly you want to depend on high speed digital cameras. These cameras are primarily used in industrial and scientific applications where processes move quickly and photographs must capture excessive rates of speed. Whether you need monochromatic or color photos, these cameras easily do both.

Monochromatic photos can be in either total black and white or a combination of both which gives you more of a grayscale photo. High speed digital cameras operate on the RGB color scheme which ends up generating a range of colors. RGB senses the red, green and blue components in the image and then blends these components together to form an extensive spectrum of colors.

High speed digital cameras are defined by a variety of unique features. These features include horizontal resolution, maximum frame rate and shutter speed. When I say horizontal resolution I am talking about the highest amount of individual photo elements that can be distinguished in one scanning line. This is an essential feature for characterizing correct horizontal video resolution for image aspect ratio. Horizontal resolution is also used to specify the resolution in the biggest circle which can fit in a rectangular image. For example, an 800×600 image would be specified as 600 horizontal lines.

Maximum frame rate refers to the greatest number of photos that can be taken in the specific time period. In photography time periods are usually counted in seconds. Finally, shutter speed refers to how much light the camera lets in during the time the shutter button is pressed. This is an individual choice and can be set across a wide range, depending upon the subject and light conditions.

When it comes to high speed cameras you have two basic choices: CCD and CMOS. CCD is short for charge coupled devices and is made up of a light sensitive silicon chip. As light hits the CCD the silicon chip begins converting the light into electrons. The chip then carries these electrons across the chip where they are read at one corner of the array. With the help of an analog-to-digital converter, the amount of electrons at each photo site is measured and then they are converted into the binary form.

CMOS refers to the complimentary metal oxide semiconductor. CMOS technology is also used to convert light into electrons. A CMOS uses a variety of transistors in every pixel to move and amplify the charge using traditional wires. The signals of CMOS don’t require conversion into digital form as they are already digital. The CMOS image sensors consume low power as they operate at lower voltages than the CCDs.

As with other digital cameras users can choose between Ethernet, RS232, DeviceNet, CANbus, USB, SCSI, modem and wireless for digital output. Megapixel choices can vary from 8 bits to 16 bits. Even the color output can vary from composite, RGB or S-Video.

Some of the prominent physical features for the high speed digital cameras include radiation hardened, underwater rated, outdoor rated, gooseneck, board mount, pan or tilt and remote head.

Digital Photography Tutorial Reveals Digital Camera Pricing Tips

StopIt is hard to imagine that it was only a few years ago where we had to wait for days in order to have camera film processed and be able to see the results of our photography work. Fortunately with today’s technology those days of waiting are over. Today’s digital cameras not only give us instant gratification but better photos and the ability to manipulate our photos through the use of photo editing software. With the changes in photography people are no longer dependent on professional photographers to capture those special moments in their lives.

If you are in the market to purchase a digital camera you may become overwhelmed by the choices you face; there are hundreds of cameras which fit every budget. There is a common misconception that only expensive items are of good quality; however, when purchasing a digital camera you can toss this notion out the window. It is easy to find a quality inexpensive camera with features that will meet every need.

Inexpensive cameras are ideal for most everyone’s needs. All of the major, name brand manufacturers, including Fuji, Kodak, Samsung, Olympus, Nikon and HP, market digital cameras at reasonable prices. When digital cameras were first on the market you were faced with spending enormous amounts of money, thankfully today you can find a camera under $100 that has all the features you are looking for including 5 mega pixels and a great zoom lens. Most cameras are compact and can be carried with you anywhere so you can take great pictures no matter where you are.

If you have a more constrained budget you can find cameras with anywhere from 3.1 to 5 mega pixels for under $50. You will find that the features on these cameras are a bit more limited, with a smaller zoom range, yet they are ideal for typical personal use.

To get the most bang for your buck I advise that you do some Internet research, learning the terminology that you will see when looking for your camera. Understanding the terms and knowing exactly what you would like to have will help narrow down your search. Even though there are some incredible opportunities on the Internet, if you don’t know exactly what it is you are looking for you will have a very difficult time finding the best camera for you.

If you would like to have more than a point and shoot camera you will be looking at cameras in the $100 to $200 range. Cameras in this price range have an incredible amount of features and are perfect if you would like to take professional quality photos. Cameras in this range are generally small enough to take wherever you wish to go to get incredible, spur of the moment, photos.

In fact, most cameras on the market today are incredibly compact, generally small enough to be slipped into the pocket. Most of these cameras have 8 to 10 mega pixels which will create quality prints in the 4×6 – 8×10 range. When you do your research you will learn that the higher the mega pixel rating the larger the print you will be able to make, as well as the better the overall quality of the photo. Some of the manufacturers that you will want to look for include Konica, Minolta, Nikon, Sony and Olympus. Features to expect include optical zoom, multi scene, LCD and a few other useful functions.

For a more professional camera you can spend more than $200; in this price range you will find 12 mega pixels, image stabilization high resolution sensors and an ultra compact body. It is even possible to find basic SLR cameras at this price range, allowing you to change out lenses. Even though SLR cameras are bulkier you are definitely moving out of the point and shoot range to the professional arena. In this price range you can also purchase ultra compact cameras. These are typically the size of a credit card and 1″ thick. The nice thing about these cameras is that even though these cameras are thin they still contain the advanced features such as digital zoom and LCD.

Research is key to finding the best deal. The Internet is the worlds largest library and here you can not only find discounts but stay abreast of the latest innovations in digital cameras. Prior to purchasing you definitely want to make some price comparisons and there are a variety of sites that allow you to do this.

Figure out what your ideal digital camera would include then search the Internet for it, always looking for the best deal. Every week you will find Dan Feildman is sharing yet another digital photography tutorial among thousands of budding digital photographers, on this very popular online digital photography tutorial blog.

Digital Photography Tutorial Discussing Digital Camera Memory Options

Posted by admin | Posted in Digital Photography Tutorial | Posted on 17-11-2009

StopPlanning on buying the latest most potential digital cameras on the market right now that will multiply your Photographic possibilities? Functions are changing constantly and suddenly your current digital could be obsolete. One such function that can change all of the ground rules is Memory, which certainly can be considered as a key function to modern day digital cameras. If you are down on memory you may as well leave your camera at home, that is how important memory really is to the possibilities we can now get from digital photography and the more photos you can take in one session can result in either more fond memories or otherwise extra money making material…. more photos!!!

Just imagine you clicking away all afternoon with the family in the countryside, no photos left and when you all get home, there is a elephant sitting on your front lawn, and no space left to take a quick snap – very frustrating!!! Well one solution to buy a memory card with additional space, or a spare one even, but that can get quite expensive and they are easy to lose…

You need storage space too for all of the lovely pics, so you can either download to a PC and save them there, or then transfer them to an external hard drive. It really is quite simple… You should always get a CD of drivers for your digital camera to load up to a PC, but if you don’t you may be able to find them online with the help of good old “Google Search”. Once you have somewhere to store your photos long term, the tricky bit is getting it right for your short term needs…

There are varying ram size when it comes to the external hard drives, so you need to look at your own personal needs – If you are a professional digital photographer, you need to get the highest you can get in ram and also take a look at multi-media external hard drives that fix straight up into the TV – A real delight. If you take a lot of videos then you need to look at extra memory both short term and long term, as those video recordings take up a lot of space. If you just take the odd few photos, and you have plenty of room on your PC, you don’t really need an external memory pack.

There are varying types of memory cards out there on the market, so let’s put the most common ones into perspective from a consumers point of view…

The Compact Flash Memory Card is a reasonably cheap memory card, and is widely available in stores. It’s success is also due to it’s high compatibility with the majority of digital cameras. The card contains an in-built, which enhances the transfer rate of images.

Another type are Secure Digital and Multimedia Cards, which are small in size. High compatibility in most types of digital cameras, phones, MP3 players and video cameras.

Digital camera memory is and always will be a very important function within digital photography, and we are even beginning to see really excellent quality digital cameras in mobile phones, that produce photos that you could sell online – the quality is that good!!! – But anyway, the point is that in modern day digital cameras and even at the low budget end, digital camera memory has become of very high standard, but you just need a memory card, just in case that elephant occasion comes along again…

Digital Photography Tutorial Exploring Digital Cameras At A User Level

Posted by admin | Posted in Digital Photography Tutorial | Posted on 03-11-2009

StopIt seems like every day there is something new when it comes to technology. Whether it is with computers, televisions or cars the manufacturers continue to come up with innovative ideas to please the consumer. This digital photography tutorial will show that digital cameras are no different as film is nearly a thing of the past. Digital cameras produce clearer photos and provide the photographer with instant feedback as to how the picture turned out.

Digital cameras are light years different from their predecessor. Conventional film cameras were entirely dependent on chemical processing for film development. Most film cameras were bulky and difficult to carry around in a pocket or purse. In addition their size made them difficult to handle for children. Moreover, the images they delivered were not as crisp and clear as what digital technology has provided. Fortunately we no longer are tied to film and bulky cameras, with digital technology the cameras are smaller and allow users to manipulate their digital images through photo editing software.

Even since the first digital camera came out we are constantly seeing new technology and innovation. Cameras today are smart, instant and high-tech. Fortunately they are also easy enough to use that even a child can produce high quality photos. Digital cameras are easy to figure out and with automatic focus anyone can simply point and click to get amazing results. Digital cameras are the trend of the modern times; ready to deliver all your needs, in just a few seconds.

Digital cameras work by using built-in sensors which record all the images electronically. No film is needed to capture images. Images are stored onto memory chips that are built into the camera as well as mini cards which can store as many as 2000 images. Users can easily transfer their digital images directly to their computer for printing or for editing. And, without a doubt, the best thing about digital cameras is that you can choose which photos you want to keep and which you want to discard as soon as the photo has been taken.

With their ease of use and high quality images, as well as the fact that there are no photo processing costs, digital cameras are incredibly popular. With their small, compact size and easy on the budget price, digital cameras are taking over the photo marketplace. They are emerging as a high quality and high performance alternatives of the traditional cameras.

The basic components of both digital and film cameras are somewhat the same. Both cameras have a series of powerful lenses. These lenses focus the light in order to create an image of the particular object you want to shoot. The basic difference between the cameras is that in place of focusing this light on a piece of a traditional film, the digital camera focuses the light on a semiconductor device, which electronically records the light. A built-in computer then disperses this electronic info down into several digital data. All the interesting, fun and advanced digital cameras are the perfect results of this digital technology.

If you haven’t already purchased a digital camera for yourself you might want to answer a few of the following questions to determine which camera will suit your needs the best. Why do you need a digital camera? Will you use it to earn a living for yourself? Will you upload your photos on the Internet and earn from them? Do you need the best quality digital camera? Are you an average user of digital camera seeking fun or a serious professional photographer? Once you have figured out your requirements you will be able to determine the type of digital camera that is best for you.

Digital Photography Tutorial On Digital Camera Repairs

Posted by admin | Posted in Digital Photography Tutorial | Posted on 27-10-2009

StopIn today’s society we are on the digital fast track. Nowhere is this more evident that with cameras. Digital cameras are all the rage. If you don’t have a digital camera I can bet that you have thought of purchasing one given that you produce clearer photos with immediate satisfaction. Not only do you see your photo instantly you also have the opportunity to edit the photo yourself. Playing with your photos using digital photo editing software is incredibly fun and if you haven’t had the opportunity to do this I readily recommend that you try it out.

There are a huge variety of digital cameras on the market today. Several manufacturers have taken control of the market, flooding it with hundreds of varieties of cameras. Companies such as Fuji, Sony and Kodak undoubtedly provide you with the best digital cameras in the market today. Not only do they offer the best camera they also offer warranty packages in the off chance that your camera requires aftercare.

When you purchase a camera you receive a manual that shows you how to use it. Unfortunately many people don’t bother to check out the manual and simply begin to play with the camera and learn it through trial and error. While the on/off switch and the shutter button are vital, there are way more things you should know about what your camera can do. Most cameras contain sophisticated features that require a bit of knowledge in order to make them work at their optimum level.

Digital cameras typically include some software, memory cards and digital sensors. Virtually every camera comes with a one year warranty period for your purchase. It is important to read what the warranty covers as they will typically only cover internal working pieces. If something should fail during this one year period you can have your camera repaired free of cost. If you live in a larger city you may be able to find a service center locally however you may be required to mail your camera in for repairs.

The item that needs to be repaired most often are the buttons. This includes the on/off button as well as the shutter button. The reason behind this could be that these are the most often used items on the camera itself. They can easily become stuck or simply stop functioning. To avoid this problem dont press down on these buttons with a stabbing motion but with a soft touch.

If you wish to take multiple photos you can easily hold down the shutter button instead of repeatedly pressing it. Amateur photographers often fail to remember this. If you must repair the shutter button and your warranty has expired you can expect a cost of $40-$50.

Another problem misconception is that all cameras will work with all software programs. For example, the latest model of the Concord Digital Camera is not compatible with the Windows Vista. When connecting your camera to this operating system you will run into some problems that include the complete black out of the camera. So, always check the manual to see which programs your camera is compatible with.

If you run into this problem I recommend you contact the support team for your camera. Every manufacturer offers a support website or phone number that you can utilize and they should be able to walk you through an easy fix.

If your camera warranty has expired you can look to other resources for repair. There are a variety of electronic retailers that will be able to repair your camera or point you in the right direction.

Specialty camera stores are a great source for reliable camera repairs. If they are unable to repair your camera onsite they should be able to point you in the right direction. Certain repairs, including driver and sensor, demands expertise. It is best to have these problems looked at by certified specialists.

It is important to not attempt cleaning the sensors yourself. You can easily cause damage to the sensitive chips of the sensors. To get the most out of your camera exercise caution when using it and seek proper advice if you run into a problem. If you do run into a problem you can get the best digital camera repair facility today.

StopThe new buzzword in today’s economy is “Digital”. Everything from TV to music to cars ignitions has gone digital. However, there is one item that has gained an incredible boost from the digital revolution, cameras.

Digital cameras have revolutionized how we take photos and the camera industry and the camera market have taken advantage of this opportunity by developing digital cameras. Since we don’t have to deal with film and the ensuing film processing we are addicted to instant photo gratification and more and more people are finding themselves in the market to purchase a digital camera from themselves.

Because of the increasing demand and the plethora of choices on the market consumers are finding that there are incredible discounts available. This means you can get more bang for your buck when purchasing a digital camera.

If you are in the market to purchase a new digital camera you will find that there are some incredible bargains on great cameras. Yet, you may be asking yourself, where do you find the discounted digital cameras? This digital photography tutorial is designed to point you in the right direction so you can find exactly what you are looking for at a price that will make you smile.

The Internet is one of the best ways to find discounts on the digital cameras you are looking for. There is no faster and comprehensive medium like Internet. With research you can easily find discounts on all sorts of cameras, undoubtedly including the one you are looking for. Moreover there are thousands of sites which deal with digital cameras and offer discounts. If you know what you are looking for you will undoubtedly find it at one of the many online stores and online retailers at an incredible discount.

Knowing what you are looking for will help when comparing the discounted rates which are offered by different online retailers. For example you want a 3.0 megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom and a 2 inch LCD monitor and an aperture range from f/2.0-f/8.0. There are a variety of manufacturers who make cameras that meet these specifications and who offer them at different prices. Comparing prices and possible discounts will give you the best bang for your buck.

Along with finding discounts you will also want to check out online reviews of the different cameras and manufacturers. These are important so you purchase the camera that will best meet your needs and last long enough for you to get your money’s worth.

This digital photography tutorial also recommends that you look for web sites that will ask for exactly what you are looking for and then take you to a page that has only those cameras along with the price. They might ask for your required megapixel range, zoom range, flash, memory, exposure and size. After you finish filling these details, the web sites would display the results of the cameras including these features, along with the discount offers.

If you don’t have access to the Internet you will need to rely on the local phonebook. This is a bit more difficult as you will need to find discount dealers and then contact each one. I recommend that you check out the stores yourself, to compare the rates and then go back to a certain shop which offers you the best discounts. Obviously this method requires a lot of time, money and patience. Moreover the discount that you would get won’t be much of a difference to the market price.

While you may be apprehensive about purchasing items over the Internet it is undoubtedly the best way to get a digital camera at incredible discounted prices. With a bit of research you will be able to get more an incredible bang for your buck.

What sets professional photographers apart from their counterparts is their heart for the job, their desire that every photo tells a story and brings out the best of their subject. If you are interested in becoming a professional photographer keep in mind the following steps as explained in this digital photography tutorial

Have the right equipment

Professional photography requires a lot of equipment. Look at what you have and then research what else you will need to fill out your inventory. You obviously will require a professional quality camera. While there are a lot of great cameras on the market professional quality cameras, such as digital SLR’s, are somewhat expensive. Manual digital SLR cameras are mid-range cameras and can be used in the beginning. This camera will give professional quality photos as well as getting you started learning how to properly use cameras to produce professional results.

Start as an apprentice

Find a local photographer who will take you on as an apprentice. While these positions typically don’t pay, you can definitely learn a lot which will help you when you start your own business. In this position knowledge is power and it is vital that you learn as much as you can in order to make your own business a success. Learning the “tricks” of a successful photographer will be worth more than a paycheck when all is said and done.

Learn as much as you can
With the advent of digital technology photography has changed dramatically and if you wish to be a success you need to understand the various techniques and tricks. Take community classes on photography where you can learn the basics of cameras, lighting, and digital photo processing. Take advantage of the worlds largest library, the Internet, and read up on topics of interest as well as tutorials on taking great photographs. There are a variety of photo genres that you can choose from and by doing research you can make an informed decision as to which genre will suit you best.

Patience

This is the most difficult part of photography but also will be your key to success. Regardless if you are shooting, developing or setting up your equipment, patience is key to a perfect photo. If you desire to become a professional photographer you will need to learn this essential element. Patience will be vital in the first few months of setting up your business as you wait for it to grow. However, if you remain patient you will soon see your venture take off.

If photography is your passion and you would like to earn money from it you must remember that it will take patience, a decent budget and determination. Your dedication will pay off in the end when you begin to capture the amazing moments of life and sell these moments.
